A remake of the scene from The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. I hand carved this mountainside from extra Styrofoam I had laying around from a previous project and added gold flakes. The moss is miniature model grass, and the figures are Lego minifigs. I waited till a stormy day to use natural light to give the rocks a light blue glow to simulate moonlight.
I'm trying to do a recreated shot from each film. If anyone has a favorite or memorable scene, post it in the comments, I'd love to have some input on this series.
